Royal Photographic Society Awards

LRPS

Licentiate of The Royal Photographic Society is normally the entry level Distinction and is awarded for a good level of basic skill and competence. Open to members and non-members. Requires 10 images which reflect your ability as a photographer.

ARPS

Associate of The Royal Photographic Society is awarded for a high standard of technical competence and individual creative ability. Open to members and non-members.

Requires a body of work/project of 15 images of a high standard and a written Statement of Intent.

FRPS

Fellowship of The Royal Photographic Society is awarded for exceptional standards of excellence and distinguished ability. You need have achieved the ARPS before you can apply for the FRPS.  Requires a body of work/project of 20/21 images of a distinguished photographic and creative standard accompanied by a Statement of Intent.

Photographic Alliance of Great Britain Awards

The Awards for Photographic Merit (APM) are open only to members of Clubs affiliated to the PAGB through their Federations and are at three levels - see link to PAGBB

BPAGB

Badge Photographic Alliance of Great Britain for prints only (new in 2023). 7 Prints are required and a total score of 125 or more will gain the Award.

CPAGB  

Credit Photographic Alliance of Great Britain. Blue badge and certificate. Standard: Good Club Photography.

DPAGB   

Distinction Photographic Alliance of Great Britain. Red badge and certificate. Standard: Open Exhibition Photography.

EPAGB

Excellence Photographic Alliance of Great Britain, for prints only (new in 2023).

MPAGB   

Master Photographic Alliance of Great Britain. Gold badge and certificate. Standard: Highest Standard of UK Amateur Photography.

APAGB

Associate of PAGB: This is granted to members of affiliated Federations and their clubs for prolonged outstanding service to the PAGB, their federation or club.

The PAGB awards are held for life without any annual fee and holders are entitled to use the designated letters after their name.

British Photographic Exhibitions Awards

The National Exhibitions which are members of the British Photographic Exhibitions offer a Crown Award system designed to enable successful exhibition photographers to gain additional recognition. Exhibitors are invited to aggregate their acceptances in the affiliated exhibitions and, upon reaching the accepted aggregate, to apply without charge for a Crown Rating Award. Each successful applicant for an award will receive a Certificate and a Ribbon and will be able to use the letters acknowledging their award after their name.

BPE4 Crown Award - 200 points

BPE5

BPE5 Crown Award - 300 points

 

ABPE and FBPE

Those who achieve the top crown award rating BPE5* are then invited to aggregate acceptances and awards in the member exhibitions and upon reaching the accepted aggregate to apply, without charge, for Associateship ABPE and Fellowship FBPE. The successful applicant will receive a Certificate and Medal and will be able to use the letters acknowledging their award after their name. See link to BPE awards for further information

 

Fédération Internationale de l'Art Photographique (FIAP) Awards

AFIAP

Artist Federation Internationale de l'Art Photographque (International Federation of Photographic Art). Your first acceptance must be received at least 12 months before you can be awarded your AFIAP certificate.

EFIAP

Excellence Federation Internationale de l'Art Photographque (International Federation of Photograhic Art). To apply for EFIAP you must be the holder of the AFIAP Distinction.

MFIAP

Master of Photography Federation Internationale de l'Art Photographque (International Federation of Photograhic Art).

This is the highest award for photographic merit that FIAP grants and does require photography of the very highest standard and equates to a "doctorate" in educational terms.
